Smarter than a disconnected rabbit

I am currently reading the late great Carl Sagan's book, The Dragons of Eden, speculation on the evolution of human intelligence. (Does it still exist? and has it stopped evolving and started to collapse? or is that just a problem in politics? Discuss!)

In his book, Carl Sagan concluded that the human brain contains or can process 100 times more bits of information than a rabbit's brain. From this he asks; "Is a human 100 times smarter than a rabbit?" and therefore can 100 rabbits be as smart as one human.

Clearly, an opportunity here for another banal game show from the creators of the 'Are you as smart as .....' series.

If you ignore the usual language difficulty between rabbit and human, the second difficulty would be to get the rabbits' brains to work in unison or parallel. (No worse than trying to get the average teenager to respond, I suspect)

This also raises the question as to how you could closely couple 100 rabbits' brains, even if you allowed them to freely couple in their own natural and enjoyable way. Given that you had 50 male and 50 female and dismissing any 'experimentation' that some rabbits may be prone to, you could only have 50 individually coupled rabbits at best and not always at the same time or with the same partners. Its a well known fact that rabbits lack synchronicity.

The disappointing thing in all this is that their brains are more likely to 'disengage' than to 'engage' during these frantic activities. Thus, negating the whole exercise, which is a pity, because it is good exercise. Hmm! Quite a dilemma and a big challenge for the average game show host.

Perhaps Carl Sagan should have considered a different animal in his calculations; a string of Parrots, a knot of snakes, a train of camels, or an extended world wide web of spiders! How smart would they be? Suggestions and comments are welcome and encouraged, between visiting hours and the infrequent episodes of consciousness brought on by frequent heavy doses of medication and alcohol, allegedly.
