Train robber Ronnie Biggs refused parole

Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs is set to be released from prison on parole

Train robber Ronnie Biggs has been told he will remain in prison after Justice Secretary Jack Straw refused to grant him parole.

Jack Straw, who was recently caught up in the 'expenses' scandal running rife through the political parties and Members of Parliament. Some of which are facing criminal investigations by the police.

The Reason
Mr Straw said Biggs was "wholly unrepentant" about his actions and had "outrageously courted the media" while on the run from prison.

Giovanni Di Stefano, legal adviser to Biggs, described the decision as "perverse" and said he was planning to launch a judicial review to try to have it overturned.

The Law versus Justice
The Judicial System in the UK and elsewhere is about the Law not about Justice. People often get confused by this but this case seems to go beyond enforcing the Law. Jack Straw and the parole board advisers appear to be openly seeking public vengeance and humiliation for this man.

A very dubious and dangerous path for them to take and it is also doubtful that he should be further punished because of his attractiveness to press and media coverage. Had he not been made such a 'victim' perhaps he would not have been seen as such a 'hero'. It follows the natural Law of action and reaction, of which we are all guilty, allegedly.
